  1. If I had to describe what pure talent is I would be pretty difficult. There are some obvious signs such as Novak Djokovic for tennis or Rory Macilroy for golf, but, the question is where did the talents come from? Was is the player putting hundreds of hours of hard work into it or was it the coach telling how to do things and how to improve, maybe the coach is the one with the true talent. That is what I really think.

    But, if we think someone is talented, what about the next person. Perhaps they are not quite so good, does this not make them talented? It is very hard to name one person as being truly talented.

  2. Interesting thoughts. I think you you have started another line of thinking about talent when you mention the coach. A good link with our GCSE, not all people are performers: some are coaches and some officials. A talented coach has the ability to get the best out of their student / athlete. That does not happen by accident: the coach has to have excellent knowledge; a good understanding of their athlete; know how to motivate them and I think they need to be an inspiring leader. All of this takes practice and a passion to pass on what they love to help others become the best they can be
